DODDS PRISON FACILITY
Her Majesty’s Prison at Dodds, Barbados was constructed by VECO / Commonwealth Construction Canada under a BOLT (Build, Operate, Lease, Transfer) contract with the Government of Barbados.
Challenge
The general contractor had agreed with Government a very aggressive timeline to complete the new prison facility after the previous prison at Glendairy went up in flames.
The security system was designed by Maximum Security Products according to US Prison specifications. CSS was contracted to deliver and maintain the security and fiber optic communication systems.
Solution
CSS installed 400 fixed and PTZ CCTV cameras, 240 indoor / outdoor intercom stations, 3500 meters of perimeter security system, fiber optic network cabling with 1800 terminations, over 700 doors are electronically controlled by a PLC based automation system.
The entire system monitored by a central monitoring station and 10 base stations.
The complete system was integrated and connected by over 1 million feet of cable and completed in a short period of 12 months on time and on budget.
